2025 Wave Coaches
Woodbourne Wave is proud to support our swimmers by recruiting and retaining top coaching talent. Our coaching staff is made up of Assistant Coaches specializing in certain areas of the sport, a mini-waver Coach dedicated to the 6 and under program, and a Head Coach that guides the overall team direction, competitive advantage, and fills a mentorship role to our swimmers and the staff.
We welcome new coaches Laura Maher and Nicole Sprik (Mini Wavers)!! We are fortunate to have your talent and expertise for our season!
My name is Heather Bureau and I currently work at Wheat Ridge High School as an Instructional Coach. I also am an assistant coach with the girls swim team at WRHS. I am originally from a small town outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where I swam year round on a few club teams. I come from an extensive swimming background, beginning in club and competing at California University of Pennsylvania through my junior year. I swam distance freestyle and the 400 IM before I got into coaching. My coaching experiences include helping out on a middle school swim team in Pennsylvania, coach/ camp counselor at The Bolles School in Jacksonville, Florida, restarting the girls swim team at Mitchell High School and head coach at Valley Swim Team, both in Colorado Springs. I also teach private lessons from 2 years old- 72 years old. It’s never too late to start! Outside of the world of swimming, I enjoy being outside in the summer paddleboarding, reading in the sun, or sitting on a patio.
I am excited to start a new journey at The Wave! I look forward to a summer full of fun, sun and some fast swimming!
